Ohio State paratransit service provides accessible options

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State University’s (OSU) Campus Area Bus Service, including its Handivan buses, has been successfully providing accessible transportation to students, staff and faculty, according to The Lantern.

The Office of Student Life Disability Services reviews and accepts students with permanent or temporary disabilities to use the service. Handivan ridership for fiscal year 2013 was more than 22,000 people, with the budget for fiscal year 2014 services expected to be about $842,000, covering expenses including vehicles, maintenance, fuel and drivers.
