Iteris Inc. has been selected as part of a multidisciplinary team by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to implement a real-time transit passenger information system and design an advanced transit signal priority system for three bus rapid transit (BRT) corridors in Orange County, Calif.

OCTA plans to implement BRT services along three corridors in Orange and Los Angeles Counties by 2010. The three corridors will combine to form a system that is over 73-miles long with approximately 110 station stops spaced approximately one mile apart.

The features of a real-time BRT system include: frequent service; limited stops; enhanced bus stops shelters and transit signal priority systems.
