Former BART cop convicted of involuntary manslaughter

LOS ANGELES — Former Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) police officer Johannes Mehserle was convicted late Thursday of involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting an unarmed man at an Oakland train station, according to the Los Angeles Times.
