Seattle bus drivers reject barriers

SEATTLE — After a King County Metro bus driver was beaten unconscious behind the wheel earlier this year, the transit agency installed Plexiglas barriers on buses in a pilot program, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. But the drivers' union says the barriers interfere with drivers' interactions with passengers, hinder visibility and give the impression that buses are unsafe. To read the full story, click here.
