L.A. Metro releases civil rights plan to comply with violations

LOS ANGELES — Following a Federal Transit Administration audit where the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO) was cited for civil rights violations, including not reaching out to non-English speaking passengers, the transportation agency released a one-year action plan to address those issues, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 47-page corrective action plan includes a new civil rights monitoring program to review whether equal service is given to all riders; improved planning and review of projects; and increased language assistance for passengers. For the full story, click here.
