State audit gives Sound Transit mixed reviews

SEATTLE — A report by state auditor Brian Sonntag said that while Sound Transit’s light rail ridership forecasts seem overly optimistic, and its citizen-oversight panel is insubstantial, the agency did adapt well to the recession, The Seattle Times reported.

Additionally, the audit reported concern over the next round of transit-tax proposals, intended to fund potential projects such as Seattle streetcars and a $2 billion light-rail segment. For the full story, click here.
