Atlanta poll finds overwhelming support for public transportation

ATLANTA — Ninety-two percent of respondents said public transit is “very important” and 70% said it is “somewhat important” to the region's future, according to the Atlanta Regional Commission's second annual Metro Atlanta Speaks public opinion poll, reported the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Broken down by county, 2014 poll results – which were statistically valid in each county – found that there was strong support for transit in both urban and suburban counties, including in Clayton County where 79% of the population surveyed said transit was very important.
