Launch of the first U.K. bus powered on gas generated from recycling food waste and treating sewage – the Bio-Bus! Television personality Stefan Gates took the first journey on the bus, which is refuelled at GENeco’s gas to grid plant at Bristol sewage treatment works. GENeco produces enough biomethane at the plant to power almost 8,500 homes as well as providing gas for the Bio-Bus which can travel around 300km on a full tank.
The Bio-Bus can travel up to 186 miles on a full tank of gas, which takes the annual waste of around five people to produce.
In a statement, he says he looks forward to building upon the committee's previous successes and continuing our work to reform federal programs, cut red tape, reduce regulatory burdens on businesses and families, and promote greater transparency and fiscal responsibility.
The ceremony took place in front of transit leaders gathered in Niagara Falls for the CUTA Fall Conference and Trans-Expo, hosted by Niagara Falls Transit, Welland Transit, St. Catharines Transit Commission and Niagara Parks.
The plan, which affects NYCT subways, buses and the Staten Island Railway, is updated and put into effect in mid-November each year in an effort to anticipate the effect of inclement weather on service.
