Cyanide and other chemicals were discovered under Chicago's subway yesterday, prompting the arrest of the man who stashed them there and an immediate security clampdown at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The 25-year-old man who stashed the chemicals in an underground storage room had been living in the tunnels under the subway for weeks. He had been previously accused of setting chemical fires at power substations and communications centers in Wisconsin. CTA officials began an evaluation of all underground areas in the subway system to see if some should be sealed off, reported the Associated Press.
