The Central Florida Transportation Authority (LYNX) unveiled on Wednesday a special custom-painted bus honoring members of the armed forces. LYNX designed the bus after discussions with the Federal Transit Administration about how transit agencies could observe and promote "A Moment of Remembrance," a nationwide campaign to encourage Americans to pause at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day to honor those serving this country. The bus design, which includes a memorial flag being presented to a military survivor, bears the names of 18 armed forces personnel from Florida killed in the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. The bus will go into service on the agency's regular routes and continue to circulate in central Florida for three years.
