The government of Canada has helped fund a youth-oriented "Careers in Transportation" Website, www.transpocity.ca, which was officially launched last week. The newly updated site, developed by the Western Transportation Advisory Council, was funded through two contribution agreements totaling $120,000 from Transport Canada. The youth-oriented site contains extensive information on the diverse types of jobs in transportation, including: pay scales; education and training requirements; links to educational and training programs; career paths; and interviews with young people working in the transportation industry. The original TranspoCity Website was launched in May 2005, and receives an estimated 75,000 hits per month.
