Ohio-based Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) received the Access Center Partnership Award from the city’s Access Center for Independent Living, during its celebration of the 17th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The award recognizes local organizations for their relationship with the Access Center in maintaining the center's mission to “ensure that people with disabilities have complete access to the community in which they choose to reside.” The award was bestowed for RTA’s expansion of services for people with disabilities, including its day-long, two-session ADA forum held in 2006 to give residents a chance to air concerns about accessibility issues related to transit.
