GE Equipment Services, Rail Services, will make several mobile repair facilities available, including new facilities in Mounds, Ill., and Waycross, Ga., as part of its repair solution suite of railcar repair services. The additional facilities join the currently operational mobile repair shop in La Porte, Texas.

GE’s mobile repair units, also called mobile call-outs, work on assets within a 200-mile radius of their base facilities and reduce the total cost of light maintenance by eliminating freight, switching and shop cycle time, while increasing asset availability.

In addition to mobile call-outs, GE also offers inspection stations that provide HM-201 testing and have several other facilities that offer full-service repair capabilities.
