The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will offer free bus rides for the third annual Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, June 19, joining public transportation systems nationwide.
Sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), the 2008 National Dump the Pump Day encourages people to ride public transportation to save money, conserve gasoline, and help reduce greenhouse gases.
“By participating in the third annual national Dump the Pump Day, we hope people who have never used The T bus system will decide to give us a try instead of driving their car,” said Dick Ruddell president of The T.
