MV wins Abbott Park, Ill., shuttle contract

MV Transportation's Public Transportation division won a contract to provide shuttle services for Abbott Park, Ill.-based Abbott Laboratories.

Under the terms of the five-year contract, MV will begin providing service on January 1, 2009 and be eligible for two additional one-year contract extensions upon the contract’s conclusion date of December 31, 2014.

Additionally, MV will implement several features to increase safety, improve maintenance and increase on-time performance, such as DriveCams, FleetFocus maintenance management software and its own real-time monitoring system.

In the U.S., the planned launch cities are San Francisco and New York, while Toronto will be likely Canada’s sole representative. In Europe, Apple is said to be gearing up to first launch the feature in London Paris and Berlin.
