Despite new lines, Utah ridership down

SALT LAKE CITY — Following $1.2 billion worth of new rail lines in the past year, the Utah Transit Authority’s (UTA) ridership has dropped — or remained flat, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

The number of UTA passengers in the first four months of this year — compared to the first four months of 2012 — decreased by 12,840, a 0.09% dip out of a total 14.7 million passengers, according to data provided to The Salt Lake Tribune.
