The City Council of Santa Clarita, Calif. voted unanimously to award MV Transportation Inc. a $51.7 million contract to manage and operate its transit services.

Under the terms of this three-year contract — with seven one-year renewal options — MV will operate the city’s commuter, fixed-route, dial-a-ride, and ASI transit services, and will also be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of 99 buses, including CNG, diesel and gasoline vehicles.

MV will operate from an award-winning “green” facility that the city built over the past two years.
