RTD, BNSF reach $144M FasTracks agreement

The closing on these agreements will enable the FasTracks program to move forward, providing property needed to build the Gold Line, Northwest Rail Corridor, and have access in and out of Denver Union Station and the commuter rail maintenance facility.

APTA: 84 percent of transit systems raising fares, cutting service

The association’s latest report, "Impacts of the Recession on Public Transportation Agencies", shows that since Jan. 1, 2009, 84 percent of public transit systems have raised fares, cut service or are considering either of those actions. Fifty-nine percent of public transit systems reported that they have already cut service or raised fares.

American Seating receives design awards

The InSight product line received the 2010 iF (International Forum) product design award, while its Vision product received the 2009 Good Design award in the Transportation category. Both awards are for advanced design and industrial achievements.

Feds propose texting ban for interstate truck, bus drivers

New federal rule may specifically prohibit texting by interstate commercial truck and bus drivers. Cornell e-Rulemaking Initiative partnership will make the federal regulatory process more accessible to the public through Regulation Room, an online public participation environment where people can learn about and discuss proposed federal regulations and provide feedback.
