L.A. Metro pushes again for fare evasion lockdown

Transportation officials once again are making a case for locking fare gates to anyone without a ticket at several rail stations, citing millions of dollars in lost revenue and a system that charges some and lets others ride for free.

Cubic to equip TransLink's fare payment, revenue systems

The base contract for $84 million includes the design, build and installation of the system, which will include new faregates, to be delivered by 2013. The contract includes a 10-year services contract valued at approximately $13 million per year as well as an option for five additional years of services.
