FTA's streetcar conference launches in Oregon

The two-day round-table discussion was held to assist transportation planners from 13 cities around the country to learn how to best implement federally-funded streetcar projects in their communities.

Oregon using music to thwart rail station crime

Portland has found that playing classical music at the stations discourages loitering and crime. A bill in the Oregon Legislature, if passed, will expand the program to all light rail stops in high-crime areas in three neighboring counties.
