Railway safety experts form consulting firm

A group of noted railway safety experts have formed Rail Safety Consulting LLC (RSC LLC), a company dedicated to providing safety solutions to the rapidly changing world of rail train control.

New PTC and CBTC systems are required to demonstrate very specific safety performance, and the RSC LLC staff brings more than 155 years of combined experience in evaluating system safety to these requirements. Customers include railroads, transit agencies, A&E firms, railway system suppliers and governmental agencies at several levels, both in North America and worldwide.

Key services to be provided by the firm include implementing complete safety programs, FRA Rule Part 236 compliance analysis and documentation generation, system safety design assessment, safety hazard analyses, and review of operating rules and procedures for safety. In addition, RSC LLC is able to handle unique rail assignments through its relationships with additional independent rail experts.

RSC LLC is located in the Rochester, N.Y. area, and its members include David Rutherford Jr., PE; Jeffrey Twombly, PE; Dr. Eric Cutright; Anthony LaPolla; Brian Burns and Kenneth Jackson.  Most of the team has worked together as a group providing safety consulting for more than 15 years.
