NTSB to meet on 2008 Texas crash

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced it will hold a public board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8 to discuss the January 2008 motorcoach crash outside of Victoria, Texas.

On Jan. 2, 2008, Capricorn Bus Lines Inc., under International Charter Services Inc.'s operating authority, overturned on U.S. Highway 59 near Victoria, Texas. Within five minutes, and before emergency responders arrived on scene, a northbound pickup truck struck the underside of the motorcoach. One passenger on the bus was fatally injured, 17 passengers sustained serious injuries, and both drivers and 29 passengers sustained minor injuries.

A live and archived Webcast of the proceedings will be available on the NTSB's Website.

A summary of the NTSB's final report, which will include findings, probable cause and safety recommendations, will also appear on the site shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. The entire report will appear on the site several weeks later.
