WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — According to the Contra Costa Times, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s 2009 annual report says that the San Francisco Bay Area's more than two dozen transit systems, including BART and AC Transit, will need approxmiately $1 billion a year for the next 25 years to survive, unless fundamental changes are made.
