Sen. Schumer: Make PT tax break permanent

NEW YORK — U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) is urging the federal government to make the federal mass transit tax break, which saves each mass transit rider more than $1,000 a year, permanent, according to the Epoch Times. Set to expire at the end of the year, the measure enables employees with monthly mass transit fees to deduct up to $230 from their paychecks, tax-free, through an employer benefit program.
