Amtrak’s Acela turns 10, plans for more success

WASHINGTON, D.C.Amtrak launched the nation’s most advanced high-speed rail service, the Acela Express, one decade ago, The Washington Post reports. The service has become a popular alternative to air travel and traversing Interstate 95 along the busy Northeast Corridor.  

Planning to expand on its success, Amtrak recently unveiled a long-range vision for a more ambitious bullet train that would shoot up the East Coast at speeds of up to 220 miles per hour — cutting the trip from Washington, D.C., to Boston nearly in half. For the full story, click here.
