Bombardier wins Houston airport people mover contract
The entire elevated dual-lane system at George Bush Intercontinental serves four stations (Terminals A, B, C and D/E) and operates with a fleet of 16 Innovia APM 100 vehicles (formerly known as CX-100) and Bombardier Cityflo automatic train control technology.

[IMAGE]Bombardier-Houston-2.jpg[/IMAGE]Bombardier Transportation signed a five-year contract with the Houston Airport System for the operation and maintenance of the Bombardier Innovia APM 100 automated people mover system at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, commencing 2011 to 2015.
Subject to meeting the agreed performance targets, the contract also includes a three-year extension to 2018, followed by a two-year discretionary option to extend to 2020. For the first five years, the contract is valued at approximately $27 million.
Today, the entire elevated dual-lane system at George Bush Intercontinental serves four stations (Terminals A, B, C and D/E) and operates with a fleet of 16 Innovia APM 100 vehicles (formerly known as CX-100) and Bombardier Cityflo automatic train control technology.
Bombardier supplied the first phase of the transit system to the airport in 1999 and since then, it has expanded both the vehicle fleet and the system infrastructure, with the most recent expansion project being completed in August 2010, over two months ahead of schedule.
