U. of Portland’s green transportation efforts pay off

PORTLAND, Ore. — Students and faculty are taking advantage of University of Portland's alternative transportation methods in record numbers. Nearly 5,000 riders set a record when they took trips on a shuttle service, subsidized by TriMet and the university, in a four-month period ending in November, according to OregonLive.com.

Additionally, demand for the school's Zipcars — available to faculty and staff for university business use and offered to students at a discount — grew so much that the school increased the number from three to five in September. For the full story, click here.
