First Transit awards DriveCam 5-year contract
In addition, First Transit committed to implementing DriveCam's latest product release, an advanced Fuel Management solution, on key segments of its fleet.
DriveCam Inc. announced that FirstGroup's First Transit committed to a five-year agreement to deploy up to 6,000 vehicles on DriveCam's Managed Services Program. In addition, First Transit committed to implementing DriveCam's latest product release, an advanced Fuel Management solution, on key segments of its fleet.
"DriveCam helps us differentiate our services to new and existing customers by helping us deliver what our customers demand: World-class safety performance, reduced operating costs and a positive impact on the environment," commented First Transit President Brad Thomas. "The combination of DriveCam's ability to deliver a strong return on our investment, along with their understanding of the unique attributes of the transportation industry, makes them a high-value partner."
Seamlessly integrated into DriveCam's DC3 event recorder and the DriveCam Online reporting solution, DriveCam's Fuel Management solution provides real-time measurement and feedback, helping drivers reduce excessive idling, speeding and other behaviors that result in wasted fuel.
DriveCam has measured fuel savings of up to 12 percent and estimates an annual reduction of 75,000 tons of CO2 emissions for a 6,000 vehicle transit fleet, based on EPA calculations.
