Daimler boosts Sprinter commuter-style passenger capacity

Daimler Buses North America increased passenger capacity to 18 for its commuter style Sprinter MiniBus. The new commuter style layout was recently unveiled to Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter Dealers and is now available for order by operators.

Engineers at Daimler Buses North America, the division of Daimler that upfits the Sprinter MiniBus for Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner, reconfigured the layout using Vogelsitze passenger seats that are thinner in design. This allowed the commuter floor plan to add two additional passenger seats from its original design.

The new passenger seats meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and are available with seat belts. Optional comfort features include armrests and upgraded fabric.
