BOSTON — A transportation finance report released by think tank MassINC stated that the federal government would likely decline to support the state’s request for help paying for the the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s nearly $1 billion transit rail extension to Somerville and Medford, boston.com reported.
The report suggested that the agency’s debt load and lack of a long-term transportation finance bill from Congress would be the reasons that the request for funding for 50 percent of the project would be rejected. For the full story, click here.
