PHILADELPHIA — The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) plans to spend $100 million on a new, federally mandated train-control system designed to prevent collisions, philly.com reported. SEPTA awarded a contract to Ansaldo STS USA Inc., a Pittsburgh-based subsidiary of an Italian signal-manufacturing company.
