RALEIGH, N.C. — After Atlanta voters rejected a sales tax increase to fund public transit projects, Raleigh City Council members met Monday to discuss transportation needs in the Capital City, and the importance of getting the public on board with local transit plans, WRAL.com reported.
In particular, the Council discussed the proposed $75 million Union Station downtown, which would provide a hub for Amtrak passenger trains; local, regional and interstate buses; and commuter and light rail services. For the full story, click here.
