MBTA, MDOT board members asked to reapply

BOSTON — Gov. Deval Patrick asked five board members for both the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to reapply for spots on a newly reconstituted seven-member board, raising the possibility of a shakeup, WWLP.com reported.

The recently approved MBTA bailout law, which sent $49 million to the financially struggling transit authority, included a provision to create a new transportation board, according to the report. For the full story, click here.
