NEW YORK CITY — Work remains suspended on a section of the New York City Second Avenue subway line after a controlled blast sent debris flying into the street Tuesday afternoon. Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) officials said the area at the northwest corner of 72nd Street and Second Avenue was not equipped to handle the force of the blast, according to a NY1 News report. MTA Chairman Joe Lhota is calling the incident "completely unacceptable."
