Miss. State begins operation of shuttle system

STARKVILLE, Miss. — With the receipt of a state grant, Mississippi State University, in partnership with the city of Starkville, began operating new Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit (SMART) system shuttles across the city in early January.

The grant from the Mississippi Department of Transportation has provided more than $800,000 for transit operations and approximately $1.5 million for the purchase of 10 new shuttles, The Reflector reported.
