Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) launched a series of seven short online videos, OCTA Adventure Series, which takes viewers along for the ride aboard vanpools, carpools, trains, buses and bikes.
The videos are designed to entice new riders to sample the wide range of public transportation options available in Orange County, and to be an accessible and upbeat educational tool used by everyone from curious individuals to corporate transportation coordinators.
Banner ads invite the public to visit octa.net, watch a video, then enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win great prizes such as an iPad Air, $400 in gift cards, a new bike, bus and Metrolink passes.
Since the series launched more than three weeks ago, it has attracted more than 6,000 unique visitors.
Using Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms, OCTA has kept interest high by publicizing the contest and the winners.
