SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Beginning next year, Sioux Area Metro will introduce the first phase of changes that aim to curb spending on paratransit and expand offerings for fixed-route buses, reported the Argus Leader.

The City Council unanimously adopted recommendations that a 22-member transit taskforce put together in the past year. A number of paratransit users and supporters have brought concerns to the task force and the council. Some said the service should be seen as a community asset rather than a drain on resources.
