REI unveils new DVR products, software

The HD400 and HD800 DVRs provide the ability to update the hardware operating system using the USB drive and stores more video, audio and vehicle data on the SD card or hard drive. A new version of the BUS-WATCH viewing software, A.R.M.O.R.-VMS, includes features such as license plate capture, integrated Google mapping technology and increased recording/storage space.

Allegheny Port Authority may hike fares, cut service

Prompted by a $64 million deficit projected for the Fiscal Year 2013 operating budget. The fare increase would go into effect on July 1 and the service reduction would go into effect September 2. About 46 routes would be eliminated with service scaled back on all remaining routes. The ACCESS paratransit program would see deep cuts.

Report: Railcar manufacturing down last 5 years

The moderate annualized decrease in industry revenue of 1.7% masks the sharp demand declines experienced during the recession. However, locomotives and railcars are built when ordered, which causes order backlogs that can last an average of three years.

Denver RTD won’t pursue FasTracks tax

RTD Board Chair Lee Kemp said that while economic conditions are improving in the Denver metro area, the timing is not right for a 2012 ballot initiative. The agency is still looking for alternative funding sources for the program, including grants, public-private partnerships and unsolicited proposals.
