Proterra's 35-foot EcoRide BE35 bus, in daily service at Calif.-based Foothill Transit since last September, will be rolling out to VIA Transit in San Antonio and Tallahassee StarMetro in Florida later this year.
This award is given each year to the transportation agency that provides service in an urban area with a population of less than 50,000.
Agency has placed four operators out of service in last 10 days.
In addition to ASU's fleet of intercampus shuttles, other options include the Valley Metro light rail and bus system, car sharing and carpooling programs.

However, there is still a need for summer transportation and late night services, which could be costly to provide for universities and local transit agencies.
Next year, students will pay $156 for unlimited bus passes. Prices are going up because of Denver Regional Transit District’s $18 million deficit.
Georgetown, as well as two other schools — the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison-reported that none of their students keep cars on campus.
