Service allows students, faculty and staff to ride Long Beach Transit or Passport shuttles for free by swiping their ID cards. California State University, Long Beach officials are confident the service will return in the fall.

Santa Rosa Junior College is considering ending a program that gives students about 50 percent off bus passes. Officials say the program benefits about 480 students and costs the school approximately $130,000 a year.
After making an unpopular decision to remove bus route stops, the university will look to an Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute campus transit study for help in making decisions regarding the shuttle system.
The agency will use Real-Time Passenger Information Systems on a route featuring enhanced express services, using nine dedicated buses equipped with GPS units, and 17 LED signs installed at selected high-volume bus stops.
