NJ Transit approves Homeland Security training

Funded by a $9M grant received through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transit Security Grant Program, the ProActive Terrorist Recognition and Interdiction Operations and Tactics (P.A.T.R.I.O.T.) System training will be made available to approximately 9,500 NJ Transit employees.

FRA awards $38M for PTC in Southern California

The funding is part of a $171 million grant provided to Caltrans to improve service along intercity rail lines. More than $13 million was provided for the section between San Onofre in San Clemente and Moorpark in Ventura County and an additional $25 million for the area between the Orange County line and downtown San Diego.

AC Transit, bus drivers reach contract agreement

The binding decision calls for contributions from the members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 192 to their health and benefit plans, work rule and holiday changes, and will help the district reduce its protected deficit by approximately $38 million over the term of the contract.
