The bridge, which is 4,260 feet from tower to tower and links Staten Island and Brooklyn, opened to traffic on Nov. 21, 1964. In its first full year of operation, 17.6 million vehicles crossed the span.

The former provider of the service, the Collin County Area Regional Transit, terminated service in Collin County in June 2013. The newly signed agreement between the city of Frisco, Texas and and Texoma Area Paratransit System will go into effect on Dec. 1.

The “Roll with Me” app, at rollwithmeapp.com, allows users to enter their current location, destination and the time they would like to leave. The app shows wheelchair-friendly routes and a list of CTA alerts such as rail station elevators that are out of service for repairs.
