STV acquires Dallas' Civil Structures Inc.

STV Inc. acquired Civil Structures Inc., a Dallas-based bridge and highway design firm. The new group, called STV/Civil Structures will continue to operate in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and become part of STV's transportation & infrastructure division.

"This acquisition allows STV to continue its expansion of services in Texas, particularly in the Dallas/Fort Worth area," said Dominick M. Servedio, P.E., STV chairman/CEO. "Texas is the second-largest state in the country, and it is facing the problems that come along with an aging infrastructure. With this strategic acquisition, STV is even more prepared to help Texas meet its needs."

STV, which opened its main Dallas office in 1997, is working on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail extension. The firm is providing program management, design and construction management for the $400 million, 25-mile, and 13-station light rail build out.

In Houston, STV has been providing engineering and construction management services for multiple projects ranging from pipelines and pump stations to automation and control systems.
