WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sources tell WABC-TV that Senators from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have introduced the Public Transportation Preservation Act, a bill that would reverse transit service cuts and layoffs, providing $2 billion in emergency assistance for public transit, including nearly $350 million in new federal funding for the New York MTA and $125 million for NJ Transit.
