WASHINGTON, D.C. — National Transportation Safety Board officials reviewing the fatal June 2009 Red Line crash criticized D.C. Metro's board of directors at a public meeting Monday, however, the agency's chairman took issue with recent findings that D.C Metro failed to provide proper oversight of its safety procedures, according to the Washington Post. The board's chairman, Peter Benjamin, also said the accident forced Metro to reevaluate itself and 'no longer rely on our history' and once strong safety record.
