LOS ANGELES — Metrolink unveiled its $200-million crash prevention project for Deborah A.P. Hersman, chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board, Los Angeles Times reported.
Hersman viewed a locomotive and a railcar equipped with positive train control technology and testing gear at one of the agency’s rail yards. Metrolink plans to install positive train control on its commuter rail network by December 2013, two years ahead of a federal requirement for nationwide deployment of the system.
