Calif. light rail called least efficient in country

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A $2 billion light-rail system serving the Silicon Valley has become the least efficient in the country, after suffering from low ridership and high operating costs, reported the Associated Press.

Less than 1% of all Santa Clara County residents ride the Valley Transportation Authority rail line daily and taxpayers subsidize 85% of the service. To read the full story, click here.
