HARTFORD, Conn. — Volunteers are trying to revive the Independent Transportation Network of Central, a struggling nonprofit that provides 24-hour transportation service for senior citizens and visually impaired residents, courant.com reported.
The network did not “aggressively pursue grants or other contributions,” and the executive director left the organization, a board of directors member told courant.com. The organization is trying to restore its finances and is getting help with its computer system from another Independent Transportation Network branch. For the full story, click here.
