TUCSON, Ariz. — Following the lead of several cities throughout the nation, City of Tucson officials have banned dockless electric scooters for safety concerns, KVOA reports.
Although the city has a bike-share program, the dockless nature of the electric scooters makes them unappealing to city officials.
According to the report, while neither of the major scooter companies, Bird and Lime, actually have dockless electric scooter programs in place in Tucson at this time, city officials say job ads for employees indicate their intentions to come to the market.
