Mass. Gov. wants answers for transit 'failure' amid storms

BOSTON — Massachussetts Gov. Charlie Baker wants MBTA transit officials to explain what went wrong amid a series of record-shattering storms and how they plan to fix it when they meet for in a post-winter “debrief, the Boston Herald reported.

According to an aide, Gov. Baker is "Looking for the T to provide a plan, an operating plan, for the next year. And the next two years. And how the service will keep running, because clearly it failed here."

After a day marked by more delays and stalled trains, the MBTA suspended all rail service Tuesday as the state digs out from a third major storm in two weeks.

MBTA GM Beverly Scott spoke to the Herald yesterday morning, apologizing for the delays and saying, “If this was many markets — where there is less of a dependency on public transport — they would have thrown in the towel a long time ago.” For the full story, click here.
